The show was amazing and I was in awe of the performances and the overall show. I would have highly recommend it to anyone. However.......as we were walking down to the sight, I was harrased by and then stung by a an extremely angry wasp. I alerted the staff via several extremely loud screams, but by the time someone decided to approach me to see if I was ok. The wasp had already stung me several times. One being on my left buttock. Which as you can imagine, made sitting down during to show very uncomfortable. How could the organisers of Kynren allow wasps to harras and sting their paying customers! Not only that, but as we headed to our seats, I was alarmed to see a very large lady in the seat next to mine. She was so large her excess fat was taking up half of my seat. Having to ask a stranger you're going to spend the next 90 minutes sitting besides, to move her excess blubber off of my seat. Was NOT an experience I wish to repeat again any time soon. If this wasn't bad enough, there was a strong smell of kippers. I'm not sure whether this was something she ate prior to the show, or was due to her being too large to properly bathe. I couldn't quite tell. But it's a good job that pets weren't allowed, as my poodle loves kippers and would have created an even more embarring situation. Imagine having to keep your dog from having it's nose firmly tucked into a strangers lady parts for 90 minutes. Surely she should have been made to pay for 2 seats? As that's what she was more or less taking up. I don't think the family behind me saw any of the show. I felt so sorry for them. It must have been so frustrating being stuck behind such a dedicated lover of take aways and fast food. If the walk back to the car park doesn't kill her, her cholesterol soon will. Obviously non of this really happened, I don't like Kippers, I don't own a poodle and Kynren is awesome.

Why ditch rides at the new park that is opening in 2026 this would of been better for people with kids so I'm confused!

Nice main event. Terrible pre event. I went to this Viking style event and the main problem was the “rose walk” hardly a rose walk because they were tiny and half dead. Expensive but fun weekend visit.

Good show BUT don't even try to take children!! If you're not very tall you may have the same problem. We took our 8 year old son who loves history but he could not see a thing! NOTHING AT ALL!! The seats are up steps however, as the arena is low there is no way a child can see over an adult sitting in front. The seats are not large but I attempted to sit my son on my knee, at 8 years old this put him in front of me so I couldn't see. He's also way to heavy so I was in agony and eventually lost feeling in my feet & had to put him back on his chair for a while. This just caused him to cry, People around us were getting annoyed by the sobbing & fidgeting child. I contacted staff to ask about child booster seats but i might as well have been asking for space dust by the look i got. Very painful night with very upset & disappointed child. I wish we hadn't bothered . From the bits i seen the show looked good, but disastrous seating so it ended up the worst night ever. Very disappointed & a simple child booster seat could have prevented it.

3rd year for us coming to this event, and it is always great but still won't beat the year of the countries with the flags in the water

Kynren is magical, a place that takes you through the history of Northern England. 2000 years in 90 minutes. All the actors are local volunteers. Awesome viking village. Food service is awesome as you don't wait long despite massive queues. Plenty of toilets. Park and ride service. You pay for parking and the bus.

A real mixed bag of emotions for me. On the one hand the production and logistics were incredible. The performers were amazing and the special effects superb. But, and it's a real big but, the story was supposed to be about the history of "us". To me that is not just a chocolate box of events cherry picked to to ignore half of our history! There was the briefest mention of Windrush as a nod to our multicultural history but the fundamental nature of Britain's immigration history was effectively airbrushed out. No mention of our part in slavery, no mention of our Empire building invasions of countries near and far. This thoroughly disappointed me, unlike the demented whoops coming from some of the people around me the moment royalty was mentioned or a battle was won. Full marks for production. A lowly one star for story accuracy.
